What is HCE?
Shawano County Association for Home and Community Education (HCE) has a proud heritage of over 70 years. The Shawano County Association is part of the Wisconsin Association for Home and Community Education (HCE) and continues the heritage of improving home and community life. HCE is also affiliated with Associated Country Women of the World (ACWW) and Country Women’s Council USA (CWC).

The HCE Mission Statement:

  • Offer educational Opportunities
  • Improve Leadership Skills of Members
  • Provide Service to Communities

A non-profit educational organization comprised of member associations in 61 counties in Wisconsin.

Wisconsin Bookworms™
A sponsor of HCE. Each month, over 5,000 free books are being distributed to childeren who would not otherwise have a chance to cherish a book of their own. The Wisconsin Bookworms™ project reaches out to Wisconsin children ages 2–5 in families of financial need and gives them the tools to learn. This year, more than 50,000 books will be distributed.
