What is the Wisconsin Nutrition Education Program (WNEP)?
WNEP is a federally funded program that provides information and educational programs to low income families, youth and individuals in Shawano and Menominee Counties.

The Nutrition Program can provide information and assistance to you and your family on these topics:
- Preparing healthy meals

- Managing your food money
- How to shop and stretch your food dollars
- Helping your children eat healthy snacks and meals
- Cooking skills
- Increasing physical activity for yourself and with your family
- Food safety to prevent food-related illnesses.
Youth Education
We provide school nutrition programs that educate children on proper diet, food safety, health and fitness. Click here to view healthy snack recipes used in the classroom.
Share the Bounty – A Hunger Prevention Program that runs July through October
A hunger prevention program coordinated by our local WNEP that allows area gardeners to donate extra home-grown fruits and vegetables to those in need. For all information and drop-off sites in the Shawano County area, click here.
